• Subjects of the warring Iroquois Nation in America.

• Tribes massacred by rivals in Africa

• And much more demonstrating that colonialism was not exclusively Western

What set Western colonialism apart was its foundation in Enlightenment principles and its vehicle for spreading them: Christianity.

A Fundamental Contrast: Christianity vs. Islam

This brings me to my central argument: the core export of these two civilizations is fundamentally different.

• Christianity historically spread as a movement of peace through cultural conversion. Before 600 AD, the Middle East was predominantly Christian.

• Islam, in contrast, was spread through conquest. The term “Islam” means “submission to God,” and as its founder, Muhammad, was a warlord, the religion was from its inception a call to submit to his authority. A religion born of conquest naturally perpetuates a culture of tribalism and violence.

The Incompatibility We Refuse to Acknowledge

Therefore, the violence wrought by Islamic extremism in the West—from terror threats closing Christmas markets in Europe, to assassinations of Jews worldwide, to the suppression of victims in the UK’s Pakistani grooming gang scandals—should not surprise us. We are witnessing the logical outcome of a cultural clash that our leaders refuse to honestly address.

The simple, uncomfortable truth is that some cultures are incompatible with Western liberal ideals. The primary example is Islam. One can be an American or European who practices Islam, but one cannot uphold Islamist values—which demand supremacy and submission—and simultaneously uphold the pluralistic values of the West. We have no one to blame but ourselves and our leaders for ignoring this reality. If you think Bondi Beach is the end, the ignorant hoards and masses of brainless right and left wing morons touting Palestinian rhetoric will not stop at the Jewish people and they have already been working to tear down the West.

The irony of both camps embracing grifter nonsense remains profound.

The success of this narrative is so potent that it leads to uncritical acceptance of hoaxes. When Jussie Smollett concocted a tale of a MAGA-era lynching, prominent figures like Kamala Harris and Nancy Pelosi immediately validated his story. Their quick belief revealed a disturbing eagerness to see America as a hopelessly racist nation. The truth, of course, was that America is so resistant to such blatant racism that Smollett had to stage the entire incident.

While STEM fields retain value, taking on massive debt for a degree that teaches victimhood is a poor investment. So, how do we overcome this?

1. Reform Education: We must push our institutions, from pre-K to postgraduate levels, to teach the truth: that the West is the pinnacle of human civilization. We should embrace the heroes who fought to free slaves and defeat totalitarians.
